Meet Kim
|
Hi, I'm Kim
My favorite thing in the world is to get to know the person in front of me, to really see and hear and connect. I'm often told I'm warm, easy to talk to, and that it feels safe to share with me. I hold a masters degree in counselling from Providence Theological Seminary and am a professional member of the Canadian Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association (CCPA). I have worked in the mental health space since 2021 with a special focus on complex trauma. I work with adult individuals and enjoy working with people from various cultural and religious backgrounds. |
How Counselling Can Help
I have worked with with people to help them navigate a variety of challenges. Here is some of what I can help you with
|
Complex Trauma
Anxiety Depression ADHD Relationship difficulties Parenting |
Narcissistic abuse recovery
Grief Religious trauma Co-dependency Low self-confidence Family conflict |
Therapeutic Approach
|
My therapeutic approach is fairly eclectic; I like to pull from an array of therapeutic theories and models to best serve the person I'm with at the moment. I draw from Attachment Theory, Emotions-Focused Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, DBT and CBT.
I'm an attentive, intuitive, collaborative therapist. We work together, but you are in control. You steer, I’ll point out road markers. You press the gas however hard you want, and I’ll point out the scenery as we go. |
